This is a great way for students to creatively think about their future career plans, and possibly earn regional, state and/or national recognition and prizes!! Please consider participating. PSAT Important Information:
The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 15 at Westwood High School from 8:30am - 12:30pm (auditorium and auxillary gym). All college bound 10th and 11th graders are encouraged to take the test, but 9th graders may take the test as well. The cost is $14 for 11th and 9th grade. It is FREE for all 10th grade students. Internship Opportunity for High School Students Interested in Education
Lake Carolina Elementary School has an internship available for high school students in the after-school program. The internship will enable students to gain more experience in the education field by working with kids of all ages, and it will allow them to make a positive difference in students' lives. Aerospace Field Study for Juniors and Seniors
On Friday, November 7 the Richland One Space Center (http://thechallengercenter.net/) will be holding their annual Aerospace Career Day. Aerospace Career Day provides high school students an opportunity to meet with representatives from aerospace companies to learn about career options in the aerospace industry. They can also meet with representatives from colleges, universities, and other educational institutions to find out how to get the training and education they need to qualify for the career they are interested in. "Tech Night" for Juniors and Seniors
The Midlands and Business Alliance, along with Colonial Life Insurance, will be hosting a "Tech Night" for juniors and seniors on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 3:30to 8:oo pm. Tech Night is a chance for high school students to get a closer look at IT as a career through an interactive, challenging, and fun evening of activities.
